India on Saturday reported 11,499 new coronavirus infections, 12.6 per cent lower than yesterday.
India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 4,29,05,844, while the active cases further declined to 1,21,881, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday.
The death toll climbed to 5,13,481 with 255 daily fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.
With this, the country recorded its daily COVID-19 cases under one lakh for the 20th consecutive day.

COVID-19 India News: Telangana Reports 241 New Covid Cases, No More Death
Telangana today recorded 241 new COVID-19 cases and pushed the cases tally to 7,88,624. There were no deaths today and the death count till now remains at 4,111. The recovery rate is 99.03 per cent. A bulletin said 512 people recuperated from the infection and took the cumulative number of recoveries to 7,80,974 so far. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported 76 fresh cases. The number of active cases is 3,539, the bulletin said. (PTI)
As the Delhi government lifts all COVID-19 related restrictions from February 28 onwards, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Saturday announced that the metro will now run without any restrictions, with 100 per cent capacity.
The DMRC, in a statement, said, “Passengers will be allowed to travel in the Metro without any restrictions i.e, they can travel in both standing and sitting manner.” All gates of metro stations will also remain open to facilitate passenger entry throughout the day. (ANI)
COVID-19 India News: Over 177.4 Crore Vaccine Doses Administered In India: Centre
The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country crossed 177.40 crore today, the Union Health Ministry said. More than 21 lakh (21,41,821) vaccine doses were administered today till 7 pm. The daily vaccination tally is expected to increase with the compilation of final reports for the day by late night. COVID-19 India News: Maharashtra Logs 893 New Covid Cases, 8 Deaths
Maharashtra today added 893 COVID-19 cases to its tally, which reached 78,64,516, while eight deaths took the death count to 1,43,695, an official said. The active caseload of the state was 7,811, he said, adding that 1,761 people were discharged in the past 24 hours, leaving the recovery count at 77.09,015. He said the recovery rate was 98.02 per cent and the fatality rate was 1.82 per cent, while the state’s positivity rate stood at 1.12 per cent. (PTI)
COVID-19 India News: 84 New Cases In Jammu And Kashmir, No More Death
Jammu and Kashmir today recorded 84 new cases of coronavirus, taking the infected number of persons to 4,52,901 of which 4,47,282 patients have recovered while no death due to the virus was reported in the past 24 hours, officials said. Out of the fresh cases, 63 were from the Jammu division and 21 from the Kashmir division of the union territory, the officials said. The officials said Jammu district recorded the highest of 30 cases followed by 15 in Doda district. There are 871 active cases in the union territory, the officials said. (PTI)
COVID-19 India News: Mumbai Reports 89 New Cases, No Death
Mumbai today reported 89 COVID-19 cases and no death, the seventh time this month when the fatality slate was clean in the metropolis, a civic official said. The tally in the city now stands at 10,56,296 and the death count is 16,691, while the discharge of 200 people during the day took the recovery count to 10,35,826, he said. The active caseload of the city is 902, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation data showed. (PTI)

COVID-19 India News: Delhi Reports 440 New Cases, 2 Deaths
Delhi today reported 440 fresh COVID-19 cases and two deaths, while the positivity rate stood at 0.83 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department. With this, the national capital’s case count increased to 18,59,054 and the death count climbed to 26,119, the latest health bulletin stated. (PTI)
COVID-19 India News: Andhra Pradesh Logs 141 New Cases, 3 More Deaths
Three persons died of coronavirus infection in 24 hours ending 9 AM in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday, the latest bulletin said. While 141 fresh cases were reported, 1,329 infected people recovered in the state, the bulletin said. The total Covid-19 count touched 23,17,605, recoveries 22,99,362 and deaths 14,725. COVID-19 India News: Kerala Reports 3,262 New Cases
Kerala reported 3,262 new positive cases and 181 COVID-19-related deaths today taking the caseload in the state to 64,94,680 and the death count to 65,161. The state had tested 42,753 samples in the last 24 hours, the department said in a release. “Currently, there are 32,980 active COVID-19 cases in the state out of which only 7.2 per cent of the patients are admitted to hospitals,” the release said. Several market associations in the national capital are hopeful that their business will be back on track, which was affected due to the COVID-19 restrictions, after the city government decided to withdraw all curbs, including night curfew.
The Central government on Saturday said that it has provided more than 174.71 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses to States and Union Territories so far.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 1,74,71,26,630 vaccine doses have been provided to States and UTs so far through free of cost channel and through the direct state procurement category.
Malaysia reported 30,644 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Friday, bringing the national total to 3,367,871, according to the health ministry.
There are 257 new imported cases, with 30,387 being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.
A further 57 deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 32,591.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands reported just one new COVID-19 case, which took the tally in the Union Territory to 10,016, a health department official said on Saturday.
